Below is a description of services provided in the eightbysix business eCommerce package.
Project Kick-off
- Review Project/Business Goals
- Set Expectations
- This allows the eightbysix team and the client to be on the same page from project start to completion.
- Build a Timeline
- Establish Communication Protocol
- Review Cart Features
- Begin Creative Discovery Process
- Review with client the sites that they like, establish photography, brand, information display needs, and final functionality requirements.
- This will allow us to begin the Information Architecture (IA) phase in which we create wireframes that will outline the site’s functionality before design’s are executed.
Information Architecture
SiteMap: We will work with the client to provide a detailed look at the content structure of your web site.
Either working from an existing SiteMap or creating one based on discussions and competitive research.
It is very important to realize the amount of content available through grouping, and parent to child relationships between categories and subsequent related pages. We use internet best practices to establish a solid hierarchal structure that is familiar, and easy to understand and navigate.
Note: Client will provide first draft of the Sitemap, and eightbysix will analyze and work with the client to finalize the navigation structure. After the sitemap has been completed, eightbysix will require all content to be written and/or updated prior to content integration based on dates provided in the project timeline.
Requirements Gathering and Technology Evaluation.
- Dedicated meetings to define cart features and technology.
The eightbysix technology staff will help you decide on the right options for your new eCommerce site to match your business needs and budget, and will walk you through the out-of-the-box features available for your site and their purpose.
Design
Targeted Design Strategy: To add efficiency the design process, we will use the clients’ existing brand guidelines and identity standards to build color palates, make typography decisions, and identify any photography or illustration needs. Our team then explores creative options that meet your projects requirements using the Homepage WireFrame. The eightbysix team will design two (2) homepage concepts to show the client approaches from two look and feel perspectives. This presentation gives you a comparable contrast to then make a solid decision on a design direction. After revising the homepage direction to a final, we then put together a corresponding interior page design based on the chosen homepage look and feel. We will comp up to 2 other interior content pages to provide the client with a better sense of how the site is coming together visually.
Development
Our Design Network partner, Digital Assets Inc., will be handling the development portion of this project. Digital Assets is a full service, interactive marketing and communications firm that provides strategic consultation and development for eightbysix solutions. Digital Assets’ dedicated staff has more than two decades of interactive development experience and has built many successful websites for local and national clients.

Content Integration: The development team will attempt to upload the client's current database into the Magento Cart. Some content may need to be integrated by hand. The client will assume responsibility for new content (photos, downloads, etc.) that is avialable with our new cart system. Our development team will be available for custom cart content integration if needed. Pricing will be factored after the initial database upload test.
Client Review: At the end of every project there must be client time to review and tweak final content for launch. This process is necessary to keep our launch date on track, and to meet any goals for advertising or timely events already in place.
Quality Check - Optional: A designated QA will go through your site and check all links and functionality. The QA documents and reviews their findings with the design and development team to fix any bugs or errors. This fresh pair of eyes catches the little things that are missed by team members closely working with the project and report their comments to make final adjustments before launch.
